Maru Cruz

I am a Senior Creative Director with 15 years of experience. After working in different advertising agencies, I decided to start my own company, Creative Lions – a branding and digital marketing consultancy, which has certainly been one of the best decisions of my life. 

I have always had this obsession and determination to travel and look for clients abroad, and I have had the opportunity to work with different brands and companies in different countries such as Switzerland, Brazil, USA, Finland and Australia.  

Restless and passionate about sharing and teaching my experiences, I started to give talks, organise events and give courses and workshops since 2015 on branding, design and courage, such as “Global Creative Labs” – a collaborative project among designers from all over the globe. I also set up the #CourageMethod, which is my own method I developed with the aim of joining and exchanging strengthening experiences among female executives and entrepreneurs.  

As a result of my new passion for martial arts, I started the “Guerreras” self-defence and mindset workshop for women, together with the instructor Carlos Amador. 

My latest project in the making is a book of interviews with real, courageous women, which I am creating in collaboration with illustrator Isa Espert. 

In my training, I had the opportunity to study in Parsons School of Design in New York and also did a BA degree in Graphic Design, Art Direction & Creative Advertising and a master’s degree in Design and Illustration at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
